Korean Dancheong Stainless Steel Spoon & Chopsticks Set

I've been practicing with chopsticks a lot lately but they're just regular cheap ones and not real Korean utensils. In Korea, their chopsticks are generally metal and flatter, like this set has. The inclusion of the spoon is a nice touch, this set is pretty adorable and I'm very excited to practice with a real set finally. The packaging is simple but nice and I liked the little backstory on the front of it. For $22 I think this is a great deal and I absolutely recommend it.

This spoon and chopsticks set looks even nicer in person than I expected. The engraved design is detailed without being overly flashy, and the matte stainless finish gives it a really clean premium look. It comes in a nice presentation box too, so it feels more like a proper gift item than just another utensil set.

I’ve been using it mostly for ramen, rice bowls, and soups, and the sizing feels comfortable. The chopsticks have the flat Korean style shape which took me a meal or two to adjust to, but they actually grip food pretty well once you get used to them. The spoon is long and shallow in the traditional style and works especially well for soups and stews.

The stainless steel has a solid feel without being too heavy, and cleanup is easy since everything is dishwasher safe. If I had one small complaint, it would be that the chopsticks can feel a little slippery with very smooth foods compared to textured ones. Overall though, this is a really well made set that feels durable and looks elegant enough to leave out on display.

They are not heavy, but hefty.

The chopsticks are flat, which does make it easier to grap things compared to round sticks.

The spoon isn't very deep, but more than enough for soup, and definitely very long.

They are very easy to clean.

The laser engraving is very well done and pretty.

The whole thing looks very presentable and definitely gift worthy.

Definitely worth the $22.

I got this beautiful set of flatware to keep in my car for the occasional times when I bring or buy food on the way, instead of using throwaway plastic that goes into landfill. But this set is above and beyond a simple set of cutlery. It really elevates the experience of eating because it is so nicely made.
I’m very impressed with the quality of these. The shape of them is very harmonious and the size feels just perfect. The metal is a lovely soft matt and they’ve clearly been carefully finished as everything is smooth and rounded, and a pleasure to handle. These are well balanced, and wonderful to use. Adding to the visual harmony is the traditional Dancheong pattern etched into the handles. It is subtle, but really a lovely addition. These have clearly been made with care and intention and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase them again as a gift.
