"Cheongra Gotgan"
13, Pureun-ro 16beon-gil, Seo-gu, Incheon
Hello! I'm "Yummy"! I'm a spoon with an expression full of anticipation before eating something delicious. Let me introduce you to a cafe that I fell in love with after just one visit!
If you're looking for a cafe with a unique concept, different from the modern and contemporary ones, we recommend this place!
Step into a space where the subtle aroma of wood blends with the rich scent of coffee, offering a clean yet traditionally Korean aesthetic.
Not only can you enjoy a variety of coffee, but you can also savor traditional Korean teas. Plus, the selection of assorted nuts and classic Korean snacks adds a special touch to your visit!
Let me tell you about the dishes I ordered:
Pumpkin Sikhye, Misutgaru, and Yakgwa topped with vanilla ice cream.
Here's a brief introduction!
Pumpkin Sikhye (Hobak Sikhye)
Pumpkin Sikhye is a traditional Korean sweet rice drink made with fermented sweet rice and pumpkin. It's slightly sweet and has a refreshing taste, often served chilled as a dessert or a refreshing drink, especially during holidays and special occasions. The drinks are topped with pine nuts and dried jujubes, so as you sip, you’ll occasionally taste the rich flavor of the nuts. This combination offers a delightful blend of sweetness and nuttiness!
Misutgaru
Misutgaru is a traditional Korean grain powder made from a mixture of roasted grains such as barley, rice, and beans. It's typically mixed with water or milk to create a nutritious and hearty drink. It's enjoyed for its nutty flavor and health benefits, providing a quick and easy meal replacement. Personally, I think it tastes better when mixed with milk, and adding a bit of honey makes it absolutely fantastic!
Yakgwa
Yakgwa is a traditional Korean honey cookie made from wheat flour, honey, sesame oil, and ginger juice. These cookies are deep-fried and then soaked in a honey syrup, giving them a sweet and chewy texture. Yakgwa is often enjoyed during festive occasions and is a popular traditional treat.
At Cheongra Gotgan, Yakgwa is packaged and sold individually. If you prefer it moist, store it at room temperature; if you want a chewier texture, keep it refrigerated. Either way, you'll be addicted to its sweet flavor!
While only sell large Yakgwa here, mini Yakgwa is also available!
In addition to Yakgwa, you can also enjoy a variety of nuts, dried vegetables, and the traditional Korean snack 'Gangjeong'.
Gangjeong is a traditional Korean treat made from rice, nuts, malt syrup, honey, or rice syrup. It has a crispy texture and a sweet, healthy flavor that everyone can easily enjoy! It's a highly recommended dessert that pairs well with any beverage.
